CBT – Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a framework for understanding how perspectives can alter thoughts, feelings and behaviours in situations and events. CBT helps people improve their management of mental health issues by dealing with symptoms of Anxiety and Depression. The aim is to make sense of overwhelming problems by breaking them down into smaller parts and changing the thinking patterns. This leads to understanding the links between mood, anxiety and behaviours.

Groups are conducted periodically, the following may be suitable for Anxiety, Depression:

CBT EVENING GROUP: The focus is on the ‘here and now’ approach to looking at problems and difficulties. The aim is to assist people to change unhelpful behaviours and thinking patterns through a goal-oriented approach.

CBT FOR DEPRESSION & ANXIETY: The group focuses on teaching effective management skills for symptoms of Anxiety and Depression. The goal is to enable people to understand the effects and learn to reduce the overall level, frequency and intensity of the anxiety symptoms.

CBT FOR WORRY: The group is aimed at people with an Anxiety Disorder or anxiety features. It provides support and strategies for dealing with anxiety to increase quality of life. The emphasis is on developing changes in thinking and behaviour to increase coping.
