Discharge

On the day of discharge rooms are to be vacated by 10:00am. If this is not possible, alternative arrangements may be made with your Unit Managers prior to the day of discharge.

As a private patient you may discharge yourself at any time, except where your treating Doctor determines otherwise. This would be in a situation where discharge is detrimental or dangerous.

On discharge please visit the front reception desk to settle all outstanding accounts.

Late Discharge

Please note there is a late discharge fee of $100.00 applicable if you have not left the Hospital by 11.00am on the planned morning of discharge. This increases to $250.00 after 7.00pm. This fee is not covered by your health fund.

Discharge Planning

The treating Psychiatrist and the clinical team develop a discharge plan for the patient. This is undertaken early in the admission and will include arrangements for continuing management, follow up instructions and education. Wherever possible, family and carers are encouraged to be involved in this process.
